Everything you need to begin knitting - with support every step of the way.

Knitting Foundations is a two-part beginner knitting course designed to make learning feel calm, approachable, and actually fun. In the first class, we skip the tricky parts and start with stitches already on the needles so you can focus on learning the knit stitch and binding off. You’ll practice together and complete a simple coaster - your first finished knit project. In the second class, we circle back to the beginning and learn how to cast on stitches. From there, you can continue practicing the knit stitch or choose to learn the purl stitch as well. We’ll start a mug cozy together, which you’ll finish at home with the help of step-by-step online lessons, our community space, and access to your teachers. You’re also welcome to join our weekly in-person meetup for extra support.

All materials are provided, and you’ll take home a thoughtfully curated starter kit with wooden knitting needles, stitch markers, a tapestry needle, a project bag, and enough yarn to complete both projects. Additional yarn and small scissors are available for purchase, and scissors will be provided during class. This mini course is the perfect starting point for anyone curious about knitting and sets you up to continue into other beginner projects with confidence. This class includes a $15 continuation credit toward your next knitting course, should you choose to continue.
